  • All Time Greatest Game Villain – Gamespot Poll

So, this day, I received an email from Gamespot letting visitors know that they are able to cast a vote for the All Time Greatest Game Villain. Be wary about voting, as you need to be a member of their site in order to cast your vote and are unable to do so anonymously.

A little insert from their site:

GameSpot’s All-Time Greatest Game Villain is your chance to immortalize the greatest villains in the history of video games. Enter your own bracket of villains starting August 12, then be sure to come back on August 26 to vote for the rogues and rapscallions you think should move on each round. The villains that get the most votes will advance toward the ultimate victory – being crowned the single baddest bad guy ever. Can you pick the greatest game villain of all time?

Essentially, you – the viewer, will have the option of choosing between 24 different bad guys that will then be whittled down to an overall group of 10 villains for inclusion in the main bracket that seems to have already been sorted by Gamespot staff themselves (correct me if I’m wrong here people).

Personally, I cast my vote for ‘Lavos’ as I spent hours upon hours playing Chrono Trigger and it still reigns supreme as my favorite RPG of all time. Speaking of which, I should take some time to revisit that one again!

    Lavos – Chrono Trigger

So, Sign up and cast your vote people… I wouldn’t mind if you helped by voting for Lavos, either 😉

  • Im In Love with a STRIPPER!

So the song goes by T-Pain. I was a fiend to the strip clubs for a good section of my adult life, those were the days. Hahaha!

My best friend and I wanted to get out of the house for an evening of fun filled breasts bouncing in our faces and booze creating a stench of bad breath syndrome that would rival that of a sickly homeless person that hasn’t brushed their teeth in weeks and I was all for such an night of action and entertainment.

As I was writing this initially, I had a good thought process of direction to take this posting. Then I let it sit for too long and coming back to it now and re-reading the first paragraph, I thought again; That all my nights which involved strippers begin in this same manner. Though, I digress, lets get this show on the road…

There was one night in particular that we headed over to one of the ‘better’ adult entertainment establishments in our community in order to get our fill of this breasticle action for the better part of the evening.

The night began innocently enough with us getting into the car, making a play for the the bank for some cash to ‘splash’ on these females and a small stop for some grub. After the prep work was done, we headed over to the strip club, parked front and center with prime position by the front door of the club. We get out of the car, head up to the bouncer show ID and were let in without issue…

This is where things get hazy, with the requirement to buy two drinks/haze of smoke/ and friends in tow, I continue the streak of 3, 4, 5, etc. drinks at the club to thoroughly enjoy the evening with my peers and the club full of nekket women bumpin and grindin the pole and people in the audience. After a few drinks and a few passes of different strippers, it seems my buddy is in good with a more than one of the chicks working there – good deal! Since the chicks think that they are good with one friend, they try to play the rests’ emotions for a bigger ‘tip’ for their dances – fat chance when dealing with me!

    Stripper: ‘Tip for my dance?’
Me: ‘I didn’t see you dancing.’
She then just moves onto the next person to grind out some cash from them.

    Next stripper comes around
Stripper: ‘Tip me for my dance?’
    Me: ‘Hm…’
Pull a dollar out of my pocket
Me: ‘Do you have change for a dollar?!’
Stripper: ‘OMG! That is so rude, you are an asshole!’
Me: ‘What? Do you have change for a dollar?!’
Friend: ‘Damn man, you are a jerk. Don’t be a dick to her.’
Me: ‘What? Come on man, I’m just asking for change here!’
Friend: ‘LoL! Aite man, you should apologize, though.’
    Me: ‘Eh. Aite man.’

I stroll over to the stripper that I so politely insulted and apologize, then get to joking about with her. She was still a bit pissed at first but, somehow we found a common interest and started talking smack for a bit. I then get her to come back to our place and we continue talking some more. At the end of the night, my friend started joking with me that I made best friends with this chick.

A few weeks later (maybe it was days, I dunno, time runs by me rather quickly :-P) we end up back at this same place and I see the same chick again.

She sees me from the stage and throws me a smile and after the dance comes down and we get to chatting it up again for a bit. If you’ve been to a titalicious bar, then you know the girls can’t linger in one place for long and either need cash or to move to another dude for cash, since I wasn’t putting anything out her and I chat for a bit then she would leave and come back and we would chat some more.

    I saw her two times in the strip club but, I’ll tell you… Hell NO! I wouldn’t date a stripper. This video gives some good insight into why;

I’ve had some random experiences at strip clubs, more far fetched than just lap dance and some pole dancing. One example is the titty bar we went to for food because we were hungry late at night, half lost in Fort Lauderdale and the waitress or whatever girl kept flirting with me in an middle school way of teasing/hitting me – no dice titty bar waitress.

Now, Enjoy this little Vimeo stripper clip!

  • Working on Redesign

Sorry for the lack of postings recently, I have been on vacation from work and was in Italy for a few days spending some great quality time with a wonderful person.

On that note, once I returned I began tweaking on another project site that Matt and I have been working with since 2001, unfortunately it has consumed much of the rest of my vacation time and I hadn’t gotten around to posting some cool/good stuff here.

The site is always advertised here at the bottom as ShowYourPic.com I will have more details in a future post and give some highlights of this tedious never ending site 🙂

  • Mega Man Live Action Movie

Yes, there was actually an live action fan made movie of Mega Man, and I have had the ‘pleasure’ of giving this one a watch you can check some more reviews and an actual IMDB posting on the web alongside this there is an actual website of the Mega Man movie, though I’m not sure it should warrant such overexposure and the website looks much better than the movie.

For all the glory of the Mega Man series, this video stays true the characters and doesn’t go over the top with the action scenes. The film does a pretty good job of staying more focused on the story of Mega Man and building on the characters of Dr. Wiley, Mega Man, Rolly, Dr. Light, and Blue. I’ll be the first to say that I just really played the games through and through the get to the end and claim victory over all else, thus disregarding any storyline that was being attempted to be run through my thick skull. The end result was always me bashing the game and failing to defeat Dr. Wiley in the end.

All that said and done, I wouldn’t recommend this movie to friends unless I’m in a foul mood and want to be a bit devious to any one in particular 🙂 I do commend the creator of this film for putting in the time and effort to create costumes, story, and some depth that don’t have me wanting to destroy my computer screen and retina at the same time just to say I was blind of any visuals from this movie.

If you’ve got the time and patience, you can watch the entire movie below or you can go to their site or wherever you would like on the web.

MegaMan is a non-profit fan film. This film is for entertainment purposes only. MegaMan is the creation of Capcom Entertainment.

PS: I love Vimeo as a source for user created video content over that of YouTube.

  • Most Anticipated Movie: Resident Evil: Afterlife

I recently saw a trailer of Resident Evil: Afterlife after glancing at a post from one of my friends on Facebook, shortly thereafter, I was in love with the idea/concept of the new film in the series.

The new film seems like it will really invigorate some life into the series and bring back the audience it once garnered from the initial film in the Resident Evil movie series. Though I have seen all of the Resident Evil movies, I still have the most love for the first film. I can’t say that the RE movies have been the best but, they still seem to keep popping up time after time with new movies in the theater.

Needless to say, after seeing the trailers that now exist, I am definitely going to watch this movie in 3D sooner than later after it is released to theaters.

  • Amsterdam Trip

After living almost one year in Berlin, Germany without actually traveling throughout Europe to see other countries, I finally earned some time off — in the form of ‘Easter Holiday’ during the month of April, which gives us a good 4 day weekend to thoroughly enjoy any city for a nice run of the town during the time of Holy grace for others. I decided on spending the most random weekend of my adult life in Amsterdam, NL…

Initially, I was planning to visit my mom, whom was visiting her sister (my aunt) in London, England for the month of April. Though, that plan ended up not happening because of time constraints and cost of travel on such a short notice to London. So, I decided to tell my mom I love her but wouldn’t be making it to London for the weekend due to cost, therein deciding to make a move for something on the cheap/low which would be an entertaining weekend any young man could and would brag to his friends about.

Basically, I only had Amsterdam on my mind other than London and because of cost difference I went ahead and booked a flight to Amsterdam for the weekend.

I’m a simple man, it’s one or the other, since my primary choice was out of reach I decided to go for the alternative which proved to be fairly reasonable with my planned activities.

With Amsterdam selected as my choice destination and the plane ticket purchased, it was a matter of where to stay and what to do in the city. I asked with some friends in the office and many suggested quite a few different places and activities to do while in the city … All of those went over my head, I guess I was too focused on doing whatever I wanted anyways and the outside input made me feel too constrained to performing the actions which others wanted me to ; Call me a ‘rebel w/o a cause’ :-/

Cool! Suggestions in mind, Hotel needed, and Ticket in hand, I’m in for a rough weekend or an excellent weekend. It’s all about how you look into these things, I’m fairly optimistic that things will work out at the end of the day for people.

Mentioning hotels, I only booked a hotel for the first nights stay and would wing it for the other two nights I would be in the city… Bad move? In anyones book, yes. In my book, sort of um.. no? I had a plan. First night stay in a nice hotel in the city, the next two nights find some youth hostels in the area and stay there on the cheap for the night which would definitely not confine me to one stationary hotel, thus keeping my ass inside for the entire time doing nothing. This way of working would definitely keep me on my feet and out of a hotel as much as possible. While, hopefully, keeping me from sleeping in the streets of Holland and with how the area was I wouldn’t have minded sleeping on the streets anyways 😛

As it turns out, I booked my first hotel outside of the city, in a place called Zwanenburg at Zwanenburg Hotel Amsterdam. Okay, so, off to a fairly bad start it’s whatever, I’ll just make certain that my next hotel is in the city though I’d really like to spend my first night at the heart of the city living it up enjoy the night life all throughout. No dice, the weather was poor (raining like hell and cold) and the train ride was said to be like 20 minutes or so into the city not including the ride from the hotel to the train station. This should go without saying, that I spent the first night in the hotel outside of the city, to spare myself a very large screwup should I get lost in the city center.

Ahhhhh… A good nights rest and I wake up earlier than any other day I can clearly remember. Head out to the local market to get some toothpaste and other toiletries to tide me over the short stay in the city and prep to get the fuck outta Zwanenburg, wherever the shit that place is.

After I reupped on my toiletries and did my thang in the hotel, I headed out to the train station by way of bus. I’ve become bit of an avid public transportation buff after living in Europe for such a while, far from my haydays of constantly driving my car everywhere back in Miami.

Finally! Into the heart of the city, the belly of the beat, Amsterdam city center for sure! First stop was the biggest brightest building in my face ‘Tourist Center’, that’s righttttt I’m for sure a motherfucking tourist here to demolish the city like I do others in my first days/weeks of stay 😉

The tourist center was like a small city in itself buzzing like a nest of ants hustling and bustling for information about the city and tours and hotels (my reason for being there) and other miscellany things that tourists need, which I’m still not certain what that is — Hotel, Food, and Transportation, what else do you want? I spent a few seconds looking like a lost kid in a Macy’s, I really don’t belong here but I know what I’m looking for and I want it fast so I can be on my way even faster. Finally, one of the associates at the center acknowledges my presence and look of stupor, then asks what I’m looking for, to which I reply ‘I need a hotel, please.’ and their response is to drag me to a self service machine to look for some places to stay. Cool, I got it from here and the associate quickly disappears.

A few minutes of searching through available places of accommodation and I come across a place that sits within my meager budget and is still located within the city center, thank christ! I book the hotel and neglect to write the address, big fucking mistake on my part because the line is out the door and probably doing laps around the building – I kindly wait for a gap in between the teller and next frustratingly lost tourist to make my mark of Jamaican/American justice in foreign territory to find out the address to my hotel. *Keynote when pulling such a maneuver… Never Look Back!

Information in hand and health in tact after such a jerk move, I head on the worlds worst mission of lost worlds with some of the poorest directions ever verbalized to me, it doesn’t help I have an poor attention span and even poorer short term memory.

I work quickly with the knowledge fresh in mind to get to the nearest train station and head in the direction I was given. Luckily, I made it near to my destination and had the address on hand so with this life saving program that was gifted to me by a good friend I plugged in the address to my iGo8 phone map and headed to the hotel. A few lost streets later and I was finally at my destination 😀

This is when things get really sketchy… So, bare with me as I recap what happened after I booked into my second hotel up through my point of departure back to Berlin…

When I get to the hotel, it was actually that my room was in ANOTHER BUILDING! that was about 4-5 blocks away from where the sales desk/check-in office was. The dude proceeds to tell me, ‘Okay, its about 5 minutes away walking from here.’ To which I respond, ‘Cool, no problem. Lets go there.’ 10 minutes later. ‘Hey! I thought you said it was like 5 minutes away.’ He says, ‘Yes, yes, its near we are almost there.’ 5 more minutes walking and we reach the room. I was dying carrying all my stuff with me.

  • Gateway HD2200/HD2201 Monster

Finally, I’m getting this review/article up about an pretty good monitor. It was first drafted in April 2008! Please have a read and enjoy.

This monitor has been nothing but GREAT! since I have purchased it a short few weeks ago. The picture quality is superior, web viewing is excellent, image editing, etc. etc. the list goes on and on about how well this monitor looks/performs. If you live close to a Best Buy go and check out the Gateway High Definition (HD) 2200/2201 Monitors they have available [probably no longer in stores and replaced by far better monitors at this point at cheaper prices].

Using the Gateway HD2200/2201 as a replacement for my previous HP F2107 has been one of the greatest decisions I have made in a long time, high resolution gaming and it has been easy on my eyes for extended viewing periods. If you haven’t read my post of the plights of my usage with the HP monitor you can find that here, enjoy my misery. The Gateway monitor has done it’s role very well over the years, through traveling with me across the world since the last one (1) year when I moved to Europe.

Currently, I primarily use the monitor as an extension of my Dell XPS M1730 gaming machine to watch movies and work on some light web development plus blogging. I rarely play games anymore through the extension of this screen as the resources of current gen games is fairly taxing on the aging hardware in my XPS (I do/did find some time to play a bit of Dead Space, BioShock, and C&C: RA3 — lots of Starcraft: Broodwar has been had on the XPS but that doesn’t really count too much as any system can run that game now.)

The only problem/gripe I have with this monitor is the touch sensitive controls for the menu navigation, either I have extra greasy fingers or some fingers that don’t produce the energy necessary to register a ‘touch’ to the power button for the screen to turn off/on or the menu to select the proper options that I want/need. Nonetheless, after some frustrating tags of the monitor from different angles, I eventually get the Gateway HD to cooperate and do what I want it to do.

Gateway has done an exceptional job with this monitor and I commend them for that, but please! resolve this issue of my touch sensitive controls so I don’t spend 30 seconds+ trying to turn the screen on/off!

Overall, I would definitely recommend this monitor to anyone as a 4 out of 5 star monitor.

  • Trusty old 2003 Mazda 6

This will be just a simple copy/paste move over of my profile from CarDomain

I have since transferred the title over to my dad, who originally made the investment for the car. With a quick small cash trade, the ride is officially his and not mines anymore.

The reason why I got the car was because my old ride, a 1993 Saturn SL2, had bitten the dust with a seized motor and the journey to school was too much to handle for me to get another older used car, so my dad decided to go with a ‘new’ car.

After a few weeks of driving around in my parents car (1993 Lexus ES300), I kept seeing what I thought to be the nicest ride on the streets, which turned out to be a Mazda6, the ones I especially liked were those factory yellow models with the sport package, lip kit, wing, etc. and limo tints.

Thus! The hunt began for my very first ‘new’ car purchase. Which ended at an yearly auto event that was held by Eastern Financial Florida Credit Union/AutoBranch in South Florida. We took an early morning visit to the event and lo’ & behold, there was the car I wanted…the Mazda6. After browsing around and looking at other cars (Toyota Matrix, Nissan Altima, etc.; I think I looked at 2-3 others) I ended at the Mazda6.

I purchased the ride in about September of 2004 with 17K miles on it. They told me it was used as a rental car, thus the high milage for a car only 1 year old. I haven’t regretted it a day since 🙂

Let me know what you think. I’ll try and get more updated pictures and build on the story of the ride some more as I get time.

I hope you all enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed taking them. Leave a comment or two, I love reading & responding to them.
